Another newborn session! I couldn’t be happier πŸ™‚ And this little girl did not disappoint – full head of gorgeous dark hair and a little beautiful face. Josh and Amy welcomed Bryn to their family through open adoption! They have a great relationship with Bryn’s birth mother and their hope is that Bryn always knows love from both of her families. It was really eye opening for me to hear just a bit about their journey with adoption and some about their passion for open adoption. I’m so thankful families allow me to document such a precious and personal time of life! Here are some of my favorites from their session…

Oh sweet little Arya – how I have LOVED watching her grow!! Here she is as a newbornΒ and here at six monthsΒ and now she’s a year old! Β I had so much fun with this mini session and am super excited that I get to photograph her again this Fall! Love this family πŸ™‚

Here are some of my favorites from her session – her parents brought her Korean dress along with her symbolic item from a traditional 1st birthday ceremony – her string that she chose represents long life, so they wanted to include it in her session πŸ™‚ And of course, Old Glory…

My heart is happy when I’m photographing newborns. I get caught up in my task and love seeing these sweet new babies yawn, make faces, settle into sleep, and fold into those positions were in in the womb just days before. So much growth and change happens in those first days, weeks, months – the newborn stage is so fleeting! I’m thankful for every family that allows me to borrow their babies, snuggle and rock them, and freeze time so they can remember, during these days that are sometimes a sleepless haze, how precious and tiny that baby of theirs was.
