What a punctual baby Ezekiel is! He arrived precisely on his due date. Brittany’s labor started early in the morning of June 3oth and she was admitted to the hospital early that afternoon. When I arrived in her room around 1:30 a.m. she was already in the tub having painful contractions every few minutes. The atmosphere in the room was quiet and encouraging. Tyler did a great job of standing (for hours I might add) by the tub offering her water, rubbing her back, spraying water on her back, you name it until little (or not so little!) Ezekiel was born, underwater, at 4:16 a.m. on July 1st. He seemed so content when Brittany pulled him up to her chest and he laid, arms splayed, finally in his mama’s arms! But we all know those pesky medical professionals are never happy til the babies let out some good cries 😉 so he was rubbed and tickled until he wailed like a good little boy. I photographed them through tears (I wonder if I will ever tire of watching this miracle? I think not) and could hardly believe it when this ‘little’ baby boy turned out to almost hit the 9lb mark! A huge congratulations to this beautiful family on their newest blessing. I treasure the memory and photographs from this important, life changing and intensely personal moment and I thank you, with all my heart, for letting me silently observe and document little Ezekiel’s first moments outside your womb. I cannot wait to see him tomorrow for his newborn session!
